The legal concept of harassment and bullying is in a state of flux in the workplace, especially where public entities are concerned. This has increased exposure for our entities and, of course, has gotten many lawyers excited. More and more there is an expectation that we all not only get along but are nice to each other, even in boss-worker context. Brick and mortar office environments have also given way to remote access and 24-hour communications that can represent an exposure point let alone a political minefield. This keynote will review our evolving concepts of harassment (and bullying), their interrelation with the workplace, and ways to mitigate legal exposures (and just plain stress that conflict or accusations of conflict can cause).
