Insurance coverage is a contract. Understanding that contract is important to ensure that your entity receives the coverage you expect and don’t have any uninsured surprises. This session will overview areas governmental entities need to review to ensure all aspects of their operations are insured properly, including coverage for joint ventures, boards, interlocal agreements, your interest in utilities, port authorities, housing or redevelopment authorities, school boards, or welfare or public relief agencies. This session will also review important conditions within the policy, including representation and duties in the event of occurrence, suits, or claims. Do you know how to respond if allegations or claims are brought to your attention? Did you know that how you respond impacts what coverage may be available to your entity? Do you understand the importance of the information you supply on insurance applications and questionnaires?
